Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

This is a simple recipe for moist banana bread loaded with chocolate chips. It is a perfect treat for families and uses up ripe bananas.

Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • cup butter melted (75 g)
  • ½ cup sugar (100 g)
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • salt to taste
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (185 g)
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (85 g)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350˚F (180˚C).
  2. In a bowl, add the bananas and mash them until smooth. Add the melted butter and stir until the mixture is well combined.
  3. Add the sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, salt, and flour to the bowl. Stir until the batter is smooth.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan. Top the batter with additional chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool the banana bread completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

Ensure your bananas are very ripe for the best flavor and moisture. You can use regular chocolate chips instead of mini chips if you prefer.
