Method
- Combine the chopped cucumber, cubed watermelon, lime juice, and 4 cups of water in a blender.
- Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little more water.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
- Stir in the sugar, starting with 2 tablespoons and adding more to reach your desired sweetness.
- Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve over ice, garnished with lime slices and cucumber slices if desired.
Notes
For a smoother texture, you can strain the mixture twice. Adjust the sweetness and tartness to your preference by adding more sugar or lime juice.
