Ingredients

Salmon
  • 1 fillet (about 2 pounds) Salmon
  • 1 to 1-1/2 teaspoons Lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Onion salt
  • 1 small Onion, sliced and separated into rings
  • 6 slices Lemon
  • 1/4 cup Butter, cubed
Dill Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Sour cream
  • 1/3 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Prepared horseradish
  • 3/4 teaspoon Dill weed
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Baking pan
  • Foil

Method

  1. Line a 15x10x1-inch baking pan with heavy-duty foil and grease it lightly. Place the salmon fillet skin side down on the foil.
  2. Sprinkle the salmon with lemon pepper and onion salt. Top with the sliced onion and lemon slices. Dot the top with butter cubes.
  3. Fold the foil around the salmon to seal it tightly.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes. Carefully open the foil, letting the steam escape.
  5. Broil 4-6 inches from the heat for 3-5 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  6. While the salmon bakes, combine all the dill sauce ingredients in a small bowl until smooth. Serve the sauce with the salmon.
