Ingredients

Lasagna Components
  • 16 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 1 26 ounce can spaghetti sauce
  • 1 pound cottage cheese
Cheese Blend
  • 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Blender or electric mixer
  • 9x13-inch baking dish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until they are tender but still firm to the bite, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain the noodles.
  3. While the noodles cook, blend the tomato sauce and cottage cheese together in a blender or using an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Spoon a small amount of the sauce mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place a layer of the cooked noodles over the sauce. Sprinkle a portion of the mozzarella, Cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses over the noodles. Repeat this layering process with the remaining sauce, noodles, and cheeses, making sure to finish with a layer of cheese on top.
  5. Bake the lasagna in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

This recipe is a foundation for your own culinary expression. Feel free to add herbs like oregano or basil to the sauce mixture for extra flavor depth. If you want a sharper cheese flavor, substitute some of the mozzarella with provolone.
