Ingredients
  

For the Au Jus
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter or beef drippings
  • 0.5 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon flour optional, for a thicker au jus
  • 0.125 teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • 0.125 teaspoon onion powder optional
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Method
 

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. If using, add the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk to combine and bring to a boil over high heat. The mixture will thicken slightly if you used flour.
  3. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Serve hot with prime rib, roast beef, or French dip sandwiches.
