- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. If using, add the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk to combine and bring to a boil over high heat. The mixture will thicken slightly if you used flour.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper. Serve hot with prime rib, roast beef, or French dip sandwiches.

This recipe makes 2 cups of au jus. The photos in this recipe do not show the au jus with flour added. Store leftover au jus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
