Mango Habanero Hot Wings

Ingredients
  

For the Wings
  • 4 lbs chicken wings
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 large egg
For the Flour Batter
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 cups cornstarch
  • 4 tsps paprika
  • 2 tsps salt
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Sazon
For the Sauce
  • 1 whole Mango Sliced
  • 4 tbps melted butter
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 scotch bonnet peppers or Habanero peppers Use more for extra spice

Equipment

  • Deep fryer or large pot for frying

Method
 

  1. Season the chicken wings with salt, paprika, pepper, and the egg. Let the seasoned wings rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix together the flour, cornstarch, paprika, salt, chili powder, pepper, and Sazon for the batter.
  3. Preheat your oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Coat the chicken wings in the batter, shaking off any excess coating.
  5. Let the battered wings rest for 10 minutes before frying them.
  6. Fry the wings for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown.
  7. Blend the sliced mango and melted butter. Simmer this mixture, then slowly add the honey, BBQ sauce, and sweet chili sauce.
  8. Toss the hot fried wings in the prepared sauce. Serve immediately.
