- In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, lime juice, 1 tablespoon of canola oil, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, and oregano.
- Place the steak pieces and the soy sauce mixture into a gallon size Ziploc bag or a large bowl. Marinate the steak for a minimum of 1 hour, up to 4 hours. Turn the bag occasionally to coat the meat.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of canola oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat.
- Add the marinated steak and the marinade to the hot skillet. Cook, stirring often, until the steak browns and the marinade reduces, which takes about 5 to 6 minutes, or until you reach your desired doneness.
- Serve the cooked steak inside the warmed tortillas. Top each taco with diced red onion, chopped cilantro, and a lime wedge on the side.

This recipe comes from my Mexican-American household where street tacos were a staple at family gatherings. Making these easy tacos lets me share that tradition with my own children, even on busy nights.
