Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 6 strips bacon diced
  • 1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup undiluted
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Optional additions
  • Barbecue sauce for serving
  • Prepared mustard for serving

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain the beef and set it aside.
  3. In the same skillet, cook the diced bacon until crisp. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and drain it on paper towels. Discard the bacon drippings.
  4. Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the skillet. Stir in the undiluted tomato soup, water, cooked ground beef, and cooked bacon. Heat the mixture through.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover the skillet and let it stand for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve the pasta with barbecue sauce and prepared mustard, if desired.
