Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 1 cup water or as needed
  • 1 ounce packet dry au jus mix
  • 1 ounce package dry onion soup mix
  • 2 pound beef chuck roast
For Serving
  • 12 hoagie rolls split lengthwise
  • 8 ounce shredded mozzarella cheese

Method
 

  1. Combine water, au jus mix, and onion soup mix in a slow cooker. Add beef.
  2. Cover slow cooker and cook on High until tender, 5 hours.
  3. Shred beef with two forks. Cover slow cooker and continue cooking on Low 1 to 2 hours more.
  4. Spoon beef mixture into hoagie buns. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, then serve.
