Ingredients

Drink Base
  • 1 cup White grape juice or apple juice
  • 1 cup Cold green tea, regular or decaffeinated Steep longer than usual (about 5 minutes) for stronger flavor.
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
Fruit and Flavor
  • 1.5 cup Fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 0.5 cup Raspberries, or passion fruit
  • 0.25 tsp Acai powder Mix with a small amount of warm water first to prevent clumps.
Garnish
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Ice, crushed
  • Sprig of mint Optional

Equipment

  • Jug (at least 3 cups capacity)
  • High-speed blender
  • Muslin cloth or fine sieve

Method

  1. Prepare the base liquid. In a jug that holds at least 3 cups, combine the grape or apple juice, green tea, and lemon juice. Stir the mixture.
  2. Blend the fruit and acai. Add the sliced strawberries, raspberries, and acai powder to a high-speed blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Strain the blended mixture through a muslin cloth or fine sieve to remove solids. Pour the strained liquid into the jug containing the juice base and stir until everything is fully combined.
  4. Assemble the drink. In two serving glasses, layer crushed ice and a few slices of fresh strawberry. Pour the prepared drink over the ice and top each glass with a sprig of mint, if using.

Notes

For best results, dissolve the acai powder completely by mixing it with a small amount of warm water before adding it to the main drink mixture. If you use green tea, steep it for about 5 minutes to get a stronger flavor. If you want a sweeter drink, add honey, agave, or simple syrup. For a tarter taste, add more lemon juice. You can also add coconut milk for a creamier texture. Store any leftovers in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; shake well before serving again.
